I grew up in Michigan, living on the same block my entire life (who likes change?). When I was 13 years old, I attended a youth conference with a friend and clearly heard the gospel for the first time. After initially fighting God during that conference, I placed my trust in Christ alone, accepting His forgiveness. After graduating from Michigan State University I accepted a position in Mobile, Alabama with Shell Chemical. While living in Mobile, I was baptized at the age of 23 and joined Dauphin Way Baptist Church, my first SBC church.
After a transfer to the “oil side" of the company, I moved to Florissant in 1982. It was here that I saw God begin to work in my life, helping me to grow closer to Him, preparing me to leave a “secure” engineering position to accept His call to full-time youth ministry. I have serve at several churches in North County, in youth, administration and missions, until God changed my ministry direction. I served Him as a math teacher for the last two years at North County Christian School.
I joined HBC after my last position was terminated due to financial constraints. I found HBC a great place to heal, grow and serve the Lord. I’ve enjoyed the worship, strong preaching, Sunday school, Life Groups and international mission trips to Peru and El Salvador.
It has always been my pleasure to serve my senior pastor, helping with administration and organization. I was very blessed to be asked in the summer of 2021 to consider serving as HBC Office Administrator. I began my new role in August, and enjoy each week serving HBC and our Lord!
God has allowed me to go and grow through some difficult times but has never stopped walking with me on the path He has directed - regardless of my plans!
Proverbs 16:9 “The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his path”
